My Life at Home

Well, life at home is pleasant, but boring. We haven't gone on a road trip IN DAYS. So I'm stuck on the deck and the yard. Dad has a bum foot, so we haven't even gone for a good walk. But I spent a few minutes with a chicken broth ice cube. Refreshing!

And then there's Toy on a Rope.  I haven't managed to lose that one in the yard.

And of course there's lounging on the couch.  I was NOT chewing on the blanket.

These ears have not been at all cooperative...but at least they're becoming a matching pair.

Dad says I need to meditate and try to get in touch with my inner Lab.  What is meditate?

Another Adventure

Here we go on another hike. A mile and a half you say? Wait a minute.

After hiking all that way you gotta be kidding!

Watch that poison ivy guys!

Not my idea of a beach. And I've been to a beach, so I know.

Now I've heard of palm trees, but I never seen one.

This is better, but I thought I'd never get here.

I can swim. Big deal.

Just Another Day on Fall Mountain

Me and Daddy Frank went to the new Dog Park today. I forgot to tell Dad to bring the camera. Next time we'll take pictures of me having Fun. The Dog Park is on a hill in the woods. There is a part for little dogs and a bigger part for big dogs. I went into the big dog part. But there weren't any other doggies there today. It was OK, but it's just like my backyard except my backyard doesn't have a fence.

Here's me on my deck. Don't laugh at my crooked ear. Its trendy, OK.

Here's me high-tailing it out here before daddy sees me chewing on some interesting smelling piece of dirt. I heard daddy say they should've called me Houdini cuz I disappear so fast. See me here...see me there...now you see me...now you don't.
Trying to get in a few zzzz's after dinner.

Oh, I heard that my sister Lucy has her own blog too.  The talent runs in the family I guess.  She is a pretty dog, like me but without a trendy ear style.

Here's Me showing off for the camera.

Please Help Me Fix My Ear

OK, So my ear didn't get fixed last night while I was sleeping. Now they're talking about a clothespin, or surgery or returning me as defective. What can I do?  Any suggestions will be appreciated ... good ones will get you licked on the lips.
Here we go hiking again.
Natural rain water...they should bottle this stuff.

I took this picture of my Daddies on our hike today.

No, Please, Not Duck Tape

OK, my ear wasn't like this yesterday. I think I slept on it wrong. Daddies have been talking about duck tape. Now I don't know what that is, but I met a duck yesterday and I don't want no duck fooling with my ear.
So, just wait 'till tomorrow, after I sleep it into place again.

Me and Dex - I'm pooped after showing him some of my sheep-herding moves.

What are you looking at? I'm just working out some frustrations after an afternoon with Dexter. He just didn't want to play my puppy games. So Dexter is a grown up dog. He could have humored me and played better.

My ears are just fine. Kind of.

My Trip to Rock River

My daddies took me to Rock River today. We didn't hike all the way in cuz I can't swim yet and to get to the good beach I gotta swim across. There was some parts that were scary and slippery and I slid off the rocks.
Hmmm....

I'm not too sure about this thing they call water

But I like to drink it

Me frolicking in the river.

Refreshing

And I met a new friend. I think his name is Ben too. Ben Aflak, or something like that, daddy called him.

He went into the water and floated around. I wonder if I can do that. Dad says it is a developmental (that's a big word) thing ... and one day I'll just take to the water, just without even thinking twice about it.

Ben Aflak is one cool duck.

Me resting up for the hike back.

Hiking back with Daddy Frank.

Daddy Leon calls me "brave".

Could we stop for a hot dog?

Vermont is a cool place

They build bridges to get across water, then they take out the old one and put in a new one.
This is what I had to look at while daddies ate dinner.

Hiking

Yesterday I went for a hike at the water.  I'm not sure about water.  It is different from the beach where I was last time.
What will happen if I go down there?
Well, I'm firsty.
Maybe just a little sippy.
Sticks are one of my favorite chew toys, and they're everywhere.  How nice.
Here's some bark.  Who said I'm barking up the wrong tree?
Later we went to an outdoor restaurant and my daddies put me on a leash and tied me to the fence when they were eating.  I wanted to be on their side of the fence and I was being feisty.  I tried to get through the pickets and my behind got stuck.  I'm glad there are no pictures of that.  Then I got put in the car and it made me sad and scared.  I was crying a little.  My daddies said I was being bad.  I just want to be with my daddies.  They say mean things like "we'll take you back to Auntie Merri's".  But I saw the big thing filled with my puppy food, so I think I'm good here for a while.
