I go to the Beach

Guess where I went to? First we went to Steven's real nice trailer at camp.

Then we went down to Commercial Street where I met so many doggies I couldn't keep track. And everybody came up to me and said "What a cute puppy". Like I really care. But it made my daddies happy. It took two hours to walk from town hall to Spiritus. Then Daddy Frank picked me up and I got the express to the Boat Slip and down to the water.
It was my first time seeing the sand and ocean. It was Cool I guess, but gosh, a pup could drowned in there.

I like chewing on pine cones
Then, on Sunday we went to the real ocean where the waves are. That was scary cuz those waves sneak up on you when you don't expect it. I had fun building a sand hole and digging rocks. And some lady wanted to know all about me and where I came from. I told her about Aunt Merri and the rescue trip on a plane. She's going to call Aunt Merri and adopt a pup, I just know it.
Daddy Frank and Steven and me.

I had my lunch at the beach. Then it was lounge time. (This is my sophisticated, grown-up look).
Who needs SPF 35 when you've got your own umbrella?
I knew I forgot to pack everything. A pair of Cool Shades and my iPod would have been great. But it was a short stay at the beach so there wasn't a long time to relax.
This Provincetown place is great. I didn't want to leave. I hope we come back soon.

Here's me at the beach, playing near the water.

I was ready for the long ride home.

My First Week

Well, my first week in my new home is just about over and I like it here. There is lots of grass and bushes and trees and hiking trails.

There are so many things to get used to - and some are scary. Like sprinklers and cars and stuff. I am getting used to going in the car. I went to the Vet today and had shots. I was brave and they called me cute.

The lady doc was feeling around and said I had an undecided tesacal. She said that getting me newer would be complicated. I don't know what that all means, but then she got surprised and said, "Oh, there's the other one." So I guess it won't be so complicated. I went to visit one of my Dads' friends. They have a big Poodle named Bouvier, but I wasn't scared at all.

I am really annoyed with this collar thing. It makes me scratch.

Another one of my Dads' friends who calls himself Prince Roy-Al of the Sovereign Court or something gave me a great bowl. You don't think it's pretentious, do you? The food tastes the same, so that's all that counts.

Well, gotta go...

Hello World

Hi! My name is Benni and this is my blog.

They tell me I was born in the Outer Banks, North Carolina of a distinguished Weimaraner
mother and roustabout Labrador father who mistook mother for a Lab. But all that is hearsay and I don't remember much about the trip North to Aunt Merri's rescue house. Here is more about my first plane ride with Pilots and Paws.

My time there was short but happy. Me and my one brother and four sisters were kept warm and fed well. We had recess and romped in the playground several times a day. We had our medicine and whatever to make us strong and healthy. I'm 14 pounds and 11 plus ounces.

One day, a week or so ago, these two guys showed up along with other people and they picked me up and checked me over. I heard them say "He's the one." I wasn't ready to commit just yet, as you never know what tomorrow will bring. I learned that already, and I'm only eight or nine weeks old, not sure exactly.

Well, these two guys showed up again yesterday and Aunt Merri just picked me up and handed me over. They took pictures. They were cooing and happy, so I guess that was a good sign. So, what else could I do? I left my brother and sisters behind and went off on a new adventure. Now, I have my own place, a nice big yard and woods. It is so big, I'm afraid I'll get lost, so I pretty much stay within sight of my two dads.

I slept in my own bed last night and didn't get up 'till dad Leon woke me up to go pee at 6 o'clock. I think I'm going to like it here, especially being outside a lot. Dad Leon put this dumb collar on me and it makes me scratch. Dad Frank took it off, so that's cool. But they say we're going to the puppy store to buy me stuff and I just know I'll have to wear that scratchy collar. Oh, well. it's a puppy's life.
