More Adventures on the Road Again

At a nice dog-friendly restaurant in Winchester. We been there before. It is called Brubaker's. They served me a big bowl of water before they even asked Dads what they wanted for dinner.

And the other day I went swimming and fetched sticks in this big red lake. Cool.

But after we were walking and I rolled around on the ground like I do when I been swimming, then we got stinged by hornets. Daddy Frank got a bad sting on his hand and Daddy Leon got it on his leg. I think I got a couple on my hind quarters. Ouch!!! This place ain't too nice!

At The Beach Again Having Fun And Exercise

I got so excited as soon as I could smell that delicious aroma of pine trees and ocean breezes. There is only one place that smells so good. I had my head out the window for the last five miles.
At my hotel
We stopped at the doggie park - which is not so exciting anymore. It seems like no doggies go there, or only just a few.

Then to the beach. Then to town. That was the other day.

Relaxing in town.
 Sometimes strangers stop
and tell me how handsome I am
Today we hiked all the way through the dunes to the beach. It's called Snail Trail. It took a long time. Then we hiked back. It is like a desert, but without prickly things. Just sand and trees. I carried water in my back pack. I was real thirsty.

Everything looks the same
Daddy went the wrong way

Some kind of ruins
Hum, That's far
We ended up on a beach. Naturally.

Then we headed back on a different trail - actually it was the Snail Trail because the trail we took out was the wrong one because Daddy kinda got us lost a little because everything looks the same out there.

Reminds me of New Mexico
I couldn't wait to get back to the car.
I know what a camel feels like!
The hike tired me out. I'm pooped and I am going to bed early.

I Keep Telling Dad To Let Me Blog

I do a lot of stuff and go places, but Dad has been lazy lately and won't let me get to the computer - he hogs it.

Anyhow, he doesn't even take many pictures anymore, so I don't know what's up with that. I do need a photographer, you know. I have my thoughts to blog about, but without the pics, it wouldn't be the same.

Me and Katija went into the brook for a splash and a drink.

Daddy took me hiking, but we didn't go too far. Not enough time, Daddy said. Geez.

I have a secret drinking hole in the woods. Whenever we pass by it on our walk, I go and take a few sips of water. These trees made a nice drinking bowl and usually there is some water in there. It is quite tasty and refreshing.

But what I do best, when not out and about is LOUNGE!

Happy Birthday To Me!

I am five years old give or take a few days. Daddy Frank made me a birthday cake. It's got my favorite: carrots and peanut butter and cream cheese, with milk bone and LivaSnaps. Yum!

And I got a new collar, even though Daddies gave it to me when we got home from New Mexico. It has a pretty New Mexico design and it goes so nice with my eyes, don't you think?

Daddy yelled at me for not posing and sitting still for for a picture. Then he got me a treat and boy did I pay attention. I don't take my eyes off of treats! Oh, such torture! Give me that snack!

I'll give you my best pleading look. Oh, please! I can't stand it! Yum.

And double yum!

Happy Birthday to me!

WINTER FUN

Here I am having FUN in the snow with my BFF Katija

And here I am playing with my tennis balls - I like the ones with squeekies inside. I love to lose them in the snow and then dig them up and chase them.
It's winter. What else is there to do? I'm tired of lounging around the house and keeping the couch warm. We went to the park yesterday and it was too hard to walk because there were big deep holes in the snow and the top was all frozen and then you would sink in and underneath was wet. Daddy said it was "impossible" to walk there.

Today we went to a parking lot and walked around. Boring.

Then I went to the bank and made a cracker withdrawal! Love going to the bank.

Another Hike?!!!

Here I am before our big hike today. I was game. I go hiking just about everyday with my dads. I like it. Today we were going to the Sun Mountain Trail.

It was some trail. We walked an hour up and up and up. Till we were way up on the mountain.

Here I am with Daddy Leon. Daddies didn't bring me no water, just one bottle for them. I ate snow. I guess that's OK, cuz I like snow.

And of course I got me a stick.

Wow! Look at that view, Katija. Wish you were here!

When we got back to the hotel, it was nap time. Dinner's, not far behind.

Thought I Saw My Girlfriend but I Went For A Hike

We were in the car in a parking lot near another trail and my heart got all aflutter when I saw Katija.

I couldn't wait to get out and say hello, because it has been so long since I saw her. At least four weeks which is seven months in dog years. I went over as fast as I could to get a sniff.
Darn, I wasn't Katija - it was a boy dog who looks a lot like my girlfriend Katija. He was nice, but we just didn't click.

I just said, "Take care bud, nice meeting ya." Then he went off his own way.
Well, everyone knows my philosophy is FUN and more FUN.

Here we were in the high dessert hiking and what did I find - a Swimming Pool!
I had a nice drink, then I couldn't resist going in for a dip. Daddy Frank said it was not allowed. But he is just a spoil sport and doesn't know about FUN!

Then we went for a nice long hike on the yesterday and went way up high so we could see far.
I was checking out these bowls in the rock, looking for water. You may think I'm crazy, but I know where to find water. Back home, there would be water sometimes in between trees where the two trunks meet together or in these rock water bowls, but here it doesn't rain much and all the snow went away already, so they were dry as a bone.
Or dry as a rock in the dessert.
Saw a couple of other doggies on the hike too.

Best of all, there were sticks to carry.
Hi ho Silver! Away!
